01/10/2003: Paraphrasing Napoleon, “A book promotion tour Army marches on its stomach.” Thus, this lunch at Valley Green Restaurant in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia.
Really only two reasons to include this shot: (1) Carl Crantz stands between Three and Four, and wherever Carl went, fun followed (see here), and (2) Dan Judge swears that this restaurant, once a Colonial-era carriage stop, was where Ben Franklin hid his wine collection from the bloody Redcoats when they captured Philadelphia. Three and Four, despite declarations of only doing “research” into the rumor, were politely asked to leave the cellar—and to do so empty-handed. |
